BLACK LIVES MATTER 🖤🖤🖤
The women of the L.O.F.T. support the Black community of Asheville and the Black Lives Matter movement. We are outraged over the recent murder of George Floyd by the Minnesota police, another casually in a too long list of Black men and Black women murdered by police. We are heartbroken for his family, and pray they get the justice they deserve. We know that it is the responsibility of all Americans to actively participate in actions to dismantle racism in this country. As a show of support we will be making a donation to a Black run organization and we encourage others to do the same (details to come). On behalf of the L.O.F.T.’s owner, Katie Skinner, we would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to @guscutty and @kathryncrawfordart for including us in your downtown art project. We never imagined a day when we would board up our windows but we are happy to use that space to spread a message of BLACK LIVES MATTER. In light of the protesting and civil unrest felt in downtown Asheville and all over the United States and the World, we will be delaying our store reopening scheduled for this weekend until a future date. Stay safe Asheville, much love. 🖤
