Why is a group of crows called a murder? Of course, no one knows for sure. Some people unfairly associate crows with death or see them as an omen. Our guess is that when they asked crows what they would like to be called, they replied, "It's a murder of crows. Now back off we're really dangerous" because they were so cool. Crows are the goths of the bird world.
